AIDAN MADIGAN-CURTIS
Management Associate to the Co-Chief Investment Officer
Bridgewater Associates

Up in the wild Canadian rockies where Aidan Madigan-Curtis was raised, 'entrepreneurism' was not a commonly-heard word. Regardless, Aidan found herself driven to create and throughout her school years was constantly innovating (much to the dismay of her change-averse teachers and community) by organizing such things as a school newspaper, creating an ambassadorship program for the youth of her town, and putting on musical theater for the town to enjoy. Aidan innovated herself all the way to Harvard, where she spent four more years founding nonprofits (Harvard China Care, Harvard International Development Organization); running the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter (started an endowment drive that raised 100k for the shelter); even creating her own major "The Political Economy of East Asian Development." In college, Aidan also spun up a microfinance program that partners with a Chinese nonprofit in Shenzhen, China, to benefit the working migrant women there.

Unsurprisingly, Aidan spent less time than she should have actually studying while at Harvard, but rationalizes it away as 'real-life' lessons and managed to land a sweet job as junior partner to the co-chief investment officer of the largest institutional hedge fund manager in the world, Bridgewater Associates.

Going forward, Aidan's plans are to start her own business consulting with emerging countries on how to build and restructure markets.
